This is such a hard question for me to answer because I have so many. I guess if I had to narrow it down it would be Christmas in Connecticut, the old version with a young Barbara Stanwyck.
It’s a funny thing about that movie – I have always really identified with the main character, a writer for a big magazine who fabricates a Martha Stewart type life for her readers while living in a shabby apartment.
Not that I would ever do that, of course. However, sometimes I think that when people hear that you are a writer they get this impression that you live like Castle in the TV show. While that may be true for some, I am not one of them.
I like Christmas in general so that isn’t the only one. It just tops the list – today anyway. I like the old, black and white versions of the movies best because I enjoy the special lighting techniques and cinematography as much as the movie itself.
Miracle on 34th St. with Natalie Wood, It’s a Wonderful Life, and Holiday Inn are all must watch movies for me.
A Christmas Story is probably one of the modern movies that makes me laugh the most, and I like all of those sappy Hallmark movies. The past couple of years I have been too busy to watch them in December so it usually waits until life slows down in January.
Not counting Christmas specials, what is your favorite Christmas movie?
