With summer upon us, we can’t help but be a little obsessed with all things nautical. And although anchors are adorable, and we love a patriotic red-white-and-blue color scheme any day of the week, we thought we’d pull together some boat-inspired decor that’s a bit more low tide than tsunami in terms of subtlety.
So, first up, Thomas Paul delivers a sweet, classic set of scrimshaw plates featuring a quartet of knots; whether you’re serving the kids their fish sticks on them or displaying them on the living room wall is totally up to you.
Next, we take a look at a simply gorgeous bedroom that — triple bonus points — is also ecologically friendly with its reclaimed pallet bed. Although moving pallets need to be specially treated to eliminate potentially harmful chemicals (not to mention dirt), they’re a super cost-effective way to bring a little downmarket chic into a home at little to no cost, and the bedding in this particular room sets us adrift on an imaginary yacht with all the amenities a seafaring girl could ask for.
Simpler still is this pendant light shared by Pure Home, with its soft teal and white stripes in broad strokes:
And last but not least is this unmistakably regatta-inspired luxury garden lounger, which is completely convertible and folds down into a rattan case, protecting the sailor-rific upholstery inside.
Ahoy, mateys; there’s smooth sailing ahead!
