Trendspotting: God Save the Queen

It’s been more than a year since Wills stole a kiss from Kate on the royal balcony in what was one of the most fervently-watched wedding celebrations probably ever.

Although we can’t all be princes and princesses, a lot of us have become awfully enamored with all things British since last year’s nuptials, so for the budding Anglophiles (read: England enthusiasts) among us, today’s home decor roundup is all about the Union Jack, the icon emblazoned across the English flag.

Never one to disappoint, Target provides the most easily-accessible piece of Britain (see above) from right there in the suburbs of Anywhere-ville, USA, and let’s be honest — it couldn’t be cuter.  Perhaps better suited for our kids than for us, it does happen to be available in a variety of sizes, so… let’s just say we won’t tell.

You’d have to go across the pond, on the other hand, to snap up this Union Jack chair from Hunters Interiors since it happens to be located — you guessed it — in the UK. Still, it’s about as British as it gets, so we can sort of understand. Doesn’t it look like the perfect place to sit for a spot of tea? We think so, too.

And finally, we’re practically melting over this duo of lunchboxes… perhaps we could pack them with cucumber sandwiches (a teatime classic) and talk our Harry Potter-obsessed kiddos into carrying one around for our amusement?

Even if not, we just might have to go back to elementary school ourselves as an excuse to tote one of these adorable accessories around on our own.

It’s just such a CHEERFUL flag design, isn’t it? So mod, so edgy. Hard not to love it, even if you’re not a Brit.
