Sometimes I have a week where so much catches my attention. It might be news, it might be a laundry detergent recipe, … heck, it might just be something ridiculously funny.
And for whatever reason, it occurred to me that some of these things might be of interest to our readers as well. So here’s  some things that have hit the Modern Home Modern Baby radar recently.
The organization Battling Bare. I have a close friend—and many acquaintances—with a spouse in the military. And when I read this story about Ashley Wise and her grassroots campaign, I was filled with emotion. Parts of me were sad, parts were happy … and part of me just wanted to get involved. Be sure to head to the Battling Bare website and view the photo gallery … especially the Battle Photos gallery; it’s inspiring.
I also discovered the joy of making my own laundry soap this week. And before any of you poo-poo about making your own detergent, I’ll tell you this: I like it as much, if not more, than my standard Tide. While mine is stored in a five-gallon pail instead of a cute little jar like this, it still works just as well.
And I was proud to discover that the emergency responders in my own great state are preparing for a zombie attack. I’m glad my tax dollars are going to good use.
