I know that Pinterest is supposed to be all the rage, but I am in love with some of the sets  I find on Polyvore from creative souls like Sherry from Life of the Party who has a keen eye for design and fashion.

She puts the most amazing sets together and I can’t help but be inspired by them. If I didn’t have three children already (two of which were twins in the throws of toddlerhood) I’d be tempted to have another just so I could create one of these fantastic modern nurseries!

Modern decor, depending on what you decide upon, can sometimes come off a bit cold and stale, but Sherry shows with these designs just how inviting a modern design scheme can be with the bold colors and chevron prints.

I am loving the bold turquoise and golden yellow accents in the nursery design above. The earthy mahogany chest of drawers warms up the space and allows for a great storage option.

In this particular design, I love that Sherry infuses a bit of traditional girly pink and some floral elements as well as the modern chevron print, gray accent color with a white 60′s inspired rocker in this Baby Girl Nursery. It blends the modern with traditional pieces nicely.

This Modern Monster nursery is a fantastic way to think outside of the box from traditional nursery decor. The bold orange color with the mint green is fantastic and perfect for that little boy entering the family. The design is simple yet creative and could easily be done with a smaller budget in mind.

Taking the modern approach and color scheme to it’s fullest degree is this design with the yellow and gray with simplistic furniture and wall decal for a touch of aesthetic in the room. It’s perfect if you are looking for simple, modern and only want basic elements. The bold yellow chevron diaper bag is perfect for those days out with baby because it’s stylish and chic while also being the perfect size to hold that bunny lovie you see pictured.

Modern nursery design doesn’t have to be scary or stale. You can make a space inviting and warm with the bold prints and colors and then warm it up with a few wood pieces like a mahogany set of drawers or a toy chest.

Modern isn’t for everyone, but the above four designs are a great place to start for inspiration. And if you’re looking for additional home, party and style inspiration – Sherry from Life of the Party has a ton of boards and she continues to create them daily over at Polyvore, so head that way and check her out.

Would you design your nursery with one of these sets in mind?
