Medela Breast Pump Recall

This month, Medela recalled its popular Pump In Style Advanced breastpumps. Apparently the motor malfunctions and can slow or stop on pumps that were manufactured between February 10, 2010 and March 3, 2010 and bought between March 1 and June 30, 2010.

If you have a pump that is involved in the recall, Medela will replace it for you. Just contact them at medelareturns.com or call 1-800-435-8316.

Also recalled: Phil and Ted’s Sport V2 and Classic V1 models because of laceration hazard. Yikes! When folding and unfolding the stroller, a finger can become caught in the hinge mechanism, posing amputation and laceration hazards and general unhappiness.

Contact Phil and Teds support for more information.

Wow, an amputated finger is certainly a bigger worry than a slow breast pump! Laughed at your “general unhappiness” comment. Always good to hear about these kinds of recalls.

Thank god the breast pump doesn’t do anything horrible – it just stops unexpectedly or clicks.
Still good that Medela replaces those or at least provides an opportunity to do so.
