If you find yourself in need of wrapping paper and don’t feel like making a trip to the store, check out gift-wrapit.com. This creative site offers FREE printable PDF wrapping paper designs for Christmas and Hanukkah, as well as birthdays, graduations, weddings, and other special occasions.

What I really like about this site is that they give you printable cards and gift tags to make all of the wrapping paper designs. This makes it easy to pull off a wonderful coordinated gift presentation without investing a lot of time or money into the wrapping task.

If you need a box for your present and your item is something small like jewelry, you can fold a simple origami gift box using the instructions on the About Origami site. To make the paper square, follow the simple trick outlined here.

If you want to wrap a large gift using printable paper, print several sheets of your design, place them face down in front of you, and tape them together to create one large piece of wrapping paper. As long as you’re taping them together on the back side, your gift should still look presentable when you are finished.

Since I live in a rural area, anything that saves me a trip out of town is going to be cost effective. But, if you’re worried about the cost of printer ink, I suggest choosing a design that isn’t a solid mass of color, such as the winter branches pattern featured in this post.

Have you ever used free printable wrapping paper to wrap a present?
