Have you ever heard of the company Parasol? It’s a fairly new company with a revolutionary ideal. Parasol has done what it seems no other designer has done recently in sun wear fashion; they have combined function with fashion.
Sure, we all put sun protective clothing on our children but they are so damn cute they can wear a paper bag and look good. We, on the other hand, need to try a little harder.
Parasol’s founder, Tiffany Moller, an accomplished lawyer and mother of three young children, combed the market for sun protective clothing beyond the existing, limited segment of frumpy active wear. She wanted versatile, attractive pieces suitable for chic seaside resort living. She wanted to protect her skin without sacrificing her sense of style or compromising her lifestyle. She wanted a modern take on classic style for herself and her children.â€Â
After discovering that such clothing simply did not exist, Tiffany teamed up with her friend, Alexandra Kotur. Alexandra is the former Style Editor of American Vogue for 15 years, and now Creative Director of Town & Country, as well as perpetual member of the International Hall of Fame’s best-dressed list. Who better to design these classic looks? Together, they decided to fill this gap in the resort wear market.
The resulting line is swimsuits made from thin, quick drying knits that are fashionable enough to be worn in or out of the water. The best part, not only will you be uber fashionable on vacation, you will be 98% protected from the sun’s harmful rays with the pieces having a UPF of 50+.
Did I mention how cute these pieces are? They make pieces for women and little girls. too. My favorite piece is the color block maxi dress, seen above. You can just throw it on over your bathing suit and off to brunch you go; looking stylish and feeling pretty.
Would you buy sun protective clothing for yourself if it were fashionable?
