Even with all the hassle and stress of becoming a parent, whether it’s for the first time or the fifth, there’s one thing that never quite gets old when it comes to the prep work: decorating the nursery.

Since falling into the never-ending rabbithole commonly known as Etsy can take away hours/days/weeks of our lives we can never get back, here at Modern Home Modern Baby, we like to do a little personal shopping on your behalf every once in a while to save you a bit of time and show you the coolest of the cool.

First up, there’s the adorable nightlight we found at a shop called The Rekindled Page; we’ve all seen the endless list of “Keep Calm” messages, and just when we thought the trend had worn itself thin, we saw this literal beacon of cuteness (above).

Next, we found Huck & Jo, which offers just about every color and pattern combination on earth when it comes to crib sheets.  Think you’ve got a tough-to-accommodate color palette in your little one’s sanctuary? Think again, because this shop likely has just what you need, like the modern polka-and-Pucci scheme they’ve got going here:

Hate the pointless exercise of trying to silently close a door while baby’s sleeping? Fret no more; the Latchy Catchy comes in an array of patterns (we’re digging the rainbow chevron stripes, below) and holds your doorlatch at bay so it doesn’t make that dreaded clicking noise every time you shut a door behind you. Manna from heaven, if you ask us:

And finally, a little wall decor inspiration: the golf lovers — and apparent parents — over at Back 40 Life have an adorable series of monogram wall decals with cute, coordinating characters and customizable names, like Madeline’s monkey, for example:

Of course, we’re not stopping you from shopping til your heart’s content, so feel free to peruse the nonstop handmade goodness Etsy has to offer and consider these suggestions a mere starting point.

We won’t tell. Happy browsing!
